According to NBA insiders Barry Jackson and Anthony Chiang of The Miami Herald, the Miami Heat’s final offer to the Phoenix Suns for Kevin Durant included Andrew Wiggins, Terry Rozier, Haywood Highsmith and Jaime Jaquez Jr.
The Heat did not offer Kel’el Ware or Nikola Jovic.
“The Heat’s final offer included Andrew Wiggins, Terry Rozier, two bench players and the 20th pick in Wednesday’s NBA Draft,” Jackson and Chiang wrote. “Haywood Highsmith and Jaime Jaquez Jr. were discussed as those two additional pieces in Miami’s offer, the source said.”
The Houston Rockets agreed to trade Jalen Green, Dillon Brooks, the 10th pick in this year’s NBA Draft and five second-round picks to the Suns for Durant, who averaged 26.6 points this season while shooting 52.7% from the field, 43.0% from beyond the arc and 83.9% from the free-throw line.
The Heat were swept in the first round of the 2025 playoffs by the Cleveland Cavaliers. Jimmy Butler requested a trade and was dealt to the Golden State Warriors in February.
Miami hasn’t won a title since 2013. The franchise made the NBA Finals twice (2020, 2023) during the Butler era, losing both times.
The Heat could pursue Memphis Grizzlies point guard Ja Morant and Sacramento Kings shooting guard DeMar DeRozan next, a source told Hoops Wire.
Morant doesn’t want to leave the Grizzlies, who traded Desmond Bane to the Orlando Magic for Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, Cole Anthony, four unprotected first-round picks and one first-round pick swap on Father’s Day.
However, Morant doesn’t have a no-trade clause in his contract, so he can’t control his future.
The Grizzlies, though, are not planning to trade Morant after moving Bane, the source said.
DeRozan is a different story. The Kings are open to trading the USC product, the source said. DeRozan will make $24,750,000 next season and $25,740,000 in 2026-27, the final year of his contract.
