Report: Kevin Durant sees Philadelphia, Boston as 'welcome landing' spots

With the 2022-2023 NBA season right around the corner, the Brooklyn Nets and star Kevin Durant don't appear any closer to mending fences.

Over the weekend, Durant reportedly gave Nets owner Joe Tsai an ultimatum; to either fire general manager Sean Marks and head coach Steve Nash or trade him.

With the latest twist in the Durant/Nets saga possibly accelerating things regarding a possible trade, the list of suitors for the 12-time All-Star continues to grow. While the Boston Celtics, Miami Heat and Toronto Raptors have already been linked to Durant, another Eastern Conference foe has entered the fray, the Philadelphia 76ers.

According to SNY's Ian Begley, the 76ers have joined the Celtics as 'welcome landing' spots for Durant.

"Something worth noting: As of earlier this week, there were high-ranking members of the Sixers who've felt strongly about engaging with Brooklyn on a Durant trade," Begley wrote.

While it's unclear if the Sixers and Nets have engaged in trade discussions involving Durant, the high cost in return likely begins with Philly's 21-year-old phenom Tyrese Maxey.

Meanwhile, the Celtics remain a contender for Durant's services despite having their most recent offer rejected. At the end of July, Nets reportedly turned down an offer of star Jaylen Brown, guard Derrick White and a draft choice.
