According to Brett Siegel of ClutchPoints, the Sacramento Kings are interested in trading for Boston Celtics guard Jrue Holiday.

The Kings need a point guard after trading De’Aaron Fox to the San Antonio Spurs.

“Holiday is a veteran player the Kings have interest in, sources said,” Siegel wrote. “Whether or not Holiday is made available in trade talks by Boston is the ultimate question. New GM Scott Perry has made it clear his team needs a true point guard, and he was always a fan of Holiday when he worked with the New York Knicks.

“Perry wanted to explore the possibility of adding Holiday in New York before he was traded to the Milwaukee Bucks in 2020, sources said.”

The Celtics may have to break up their core this offseason since their payroll would reach about $500 million if no changes are made.

Holiday averaged 11.1 points, 4.3 rebounds and 3.9 assists in the 2024-25 regular season and 10.3 points, 4.1 rebounds and 4.1 assists in the 2025 postseason in seven games against the Orlando Magic and New York Knicks.

The Celtics lost to the Knicks in the second round in six games. Jayson Tatum could miss all of next season recovering from his Achilles tear.

Holiday will make $32,400,000 next season. He has played for the Philadelphia 76ers, New Orleans Pelicans, Milwaukee Bucks and Celtics. The UCLA product has career averages of 15.8 points, 4.2 rebounds and 6.2 assists.

The Kings have missed the playoffs two years in a row. They made the postseason in 2023 for the first time since 2006, losing to the Golden State Warriors in the first round in seven games.
