According to Charania, multiple teams are pursuing Morant in trade discussions as the Grizzlies are now willing to move him before the Feb. 5 deadline.
The 26-year-old is averaging 19 points and 7.6 assists this season, but is putting up career-lows of 40.1% from the field and 20.8% from deep.
While trade rumors have followed Morant for most of his career, those rumors now seem more quantified as the rift between Morant and the team appears to have widened.
Charania noted that the Grizzlies are willing to build around their other young stars, but are also open to keeping Morant as the face of the franchise.
Morant’s career has been riddles with injuries, suspensions and fines. We can only guess if his time in Memphis will end with the same drama.
