According to Jake Fischer of The Stein Line, Naz Reid is expected to decline his 2025-26 player option with the Minnesota Timberwolves.
If Reid declines his 2025-26 player option, he will become an unrestricted free agent this offseason.
“Reid has his own $15 million option that many around the league expect last season’s Sixth Man of the Year to decline,” Fischer wrote.
The Timberwolves made the conference finals this season for the second straight year. They lost to the Oklahoma City Thunder in five games.
Reid, who has spent his entire career with Minnesota, appeared in 80 games this season. He averaged 14.2 points, 6.0 rebounds and 2.3 assists while shooting 46.2% from the field, 37.9% from beyond the arc and 77.6% from the free-throw line.
According to Marc Stein of The Stein Line, the Detroit Pistons are interested in signing Reid.
Reid has career averages of 11.6 points, 4.9 rebounds and 1.3 assists. He turns 26 in August.
