The Miami Heat are Damian Lillard's preferred trade destination — that much has been made clear. The Portland Trail Blazers star requested a trade last month, eyeing a move to South Beach, and as of this moment, the Heat appear to be the only team in contention for Lillard's services.
ESPN's Brian Windhorst reported Tuesday on "NBA Today" that the Heat are the lone team across the league "seriously making an offer" for Lillard.
Brian Windhorst: "As I look across the league and have conversations with executives and agents, I can't identify another team that is seriously making an offer for Damian Lillard at this point. My belief is that the Heat can't either." pic.twitter.com/xKzBikbwfS

"And so while people can look at what the Heat's offer might be and scoff at it, if their offer is the only one on the table it, therefore, is the best one on the table," Windhorst noted.
The Athletic's Shams Charania revealed during a Tuesday appearance on Bally Sports' "The Rally" that the Heat are preparing to offer a trade package to the Blazers centered around three to four first-round draft picks, further draft capital and a young player.

Shortly after Lillard's official trade request in July, ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski reported that Lillard's agent, Aaron Goodwin, called potential suitors and warned them against trading for his client, telling clubs outside of Miami that trading for Lillard is "trading for an unhappy player."
The NBA issued a league-wide memo last week threatening penalty to Lillard and his agent if they further suggest the veteran guard won't "perform the services called for under his player contract in the event of a trade."

Yet, as of now, the memo hasn't opened the door for other suitors to enter the Lillard sweepstakes, leaving Miami in a bidding war with itself.
