Report: Raptors Could Trade Pascal Siakam To Hawks For Dejounte Murray
Ed Szczepanski-USA TODAY Sports

According to NBA insider Chris Haynes of Bleacher Report, the Toronto Raptors could trade Pascal Siakam to the Atlanta Hawks for Dejounte Murray.

Both Siakam and Murray are expected to be traded before the NBA trade deadline in February.

Siakam becomes an unrestricted NBA free agent this summer. He’s averaging 22.1 points, 6.5 rebounds, 5.0 assists, 0.9 steals and 0.3 blocks this season while shooting 52.3% from the floor, 29.7% from 3 and 75.5% from the foul line. Siakam is one of the best forwards in the NBA.

Meanwhile, Murray is averaging 20.9 points, 4.6 rebounds, 5.0 assists, 1.4 steals and 0.3 blocks this season while shooting 46.7% from the field, 38.4% from beyond the arc and 80.7% from the free-throw line. He’s one of the top two-way players in the NBA.

Siakam is making $37.9 million, while Murray is making $17.7 million. The Hawks signed Murray to a four-year, $114 million extension in July. Murray will make $24.8 million during the 2024-25 NBA season.

The Raptors are 15-21. They are in 11th place in the Eastern Conference standings. Toronto traded OG Anunoby, Precious Achiuwa and Malachi Flynn to the New York Knicks for RJ Barrett and Immanuel Quickley on December 30.

The Hawks are 14-21. They are in 12th place in the Eastern Conference standings. Trae Young and Jalen Johnson are the only players on the roster untouchable in trade talks, according to NBA insider Marc Stein.

The Raptors and Sacramento Kings discussed a Siakam trade centered around Harrison Barnes, but a deal didn’t happen because Siakam told the Kings he would not re-sign with them. The Hawks probably won’t trade for Siakam if they receive the same message from the NBA champion.
