The Phoenix Suns still intend to trade Kevin Durant this offseason, and a new report has offered some details on how many teams might have a realistic chance of getting him.

ESPN’s Shams Charania appeared on “NBA Today” Wednesday and revealed that the process of trading Durant is likely to pick up steam now that the team has hired a new head coach.

“There is expected to be a robust market for him, (with) four to six teams seriously interested in Durant potentially ahead of the NBA Draft,” Charania said.

Charania did not name names, but we can infer who a few of those teams might be. The Houston Rockets have been consistently linked to Durant, and that might be Phoenix’s preferred partner. There are also reports that the Minnesota Timberwolves might try to make a move, while Durant and the Miami Heat are also said to have some mutual interest.

The Suns hired their new head coach on Wednesday, but that hire was likely made with the knowledge that Durant will not be back next season. A trade sounds increasingly likely, perhaps before the month is over.
