According to NBA insider John Gambadoro of Arizona Sports 98.7, the Phoenix Suns plan to keep Jalen Green

The Suns are trading Kevin Durant to the Rockets for Green, Dillon Brooks, the No. 10 pick in this year’s draft and five second-round picks.

The Suns now have Green, Devin Booker and Bradley Beal. All three players play the same position, shooting guard.

Green played in all 82 games this season. He averaged 21.0 points, 4.6 rebounds and 3.4 assists while shooting 42.3% from the field, 35.4% from beyond the arc and 81.3% from the free-throw line.

The Rockets drafted Green with the second overall pick in the 2021 NBA Draft. Green, 23, has career averages of 20.1 points, 4.3 rebounds and 3.4 assists. He’ll make $33,333,333 next season.

Houston was the second seed in the West this year. The team made the playoffs for the first time since 2020, losing to the Golden State Warriors in the first round in seven games.

Meanwhile, the Suns missed the postseason this year despite having Durant, Booker and Beal. Mike Budenholzer was fired as head coach after one season. He was replaced by Cleveland Cavaliers assistant Jordan Ott.

Phoenix would love to part ways with Beal, but the veteran has a no-trade clause in his contract.
