Report: Timberwolves could be sold within a month?

The Minnesota Timberwolves could be under new ownership before the fall.

On Tuesday, Sportico's Scott Soshnick reported that Timberwolves owner Glen Taylor has retained The Raine Group to assist in the sale of the club that Taylor has owned since 1995. Soshnick added that Taylor has already received multiple bids and that a transaction could be finalized "within a month."

One source informed Soshnick that the sale isn't directly related to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic that led to the NBA suspending the 2019-20 campaign on March 11. The league returns to action inside the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex "bubble" site on July 30.

Per John Lombardo and John Ourand of Sports Business Journal, the NBA, ESPN and Turner came to terms on a historic nine-year media-rights extension worth $24 billion, total, in 2014.
