Report: Timberwolves rookie Anthony Edwards signing shoe deal with Adidas

Anthony Edwards has had a year to remember.

The Minnesota Timberwolves selected him with the first overall pick in the 2020 NBA Draft, and now the rookie has reportedly landed a shoe deal with Adidas, according to The Athletic's Shams Charania.

Edwards, who has played just two games in his NBA career thus far, has impressed, averaging 16.5 points, 2.5 assists and 2.5 rebounds per game while shooting 54.2% from the field and 37.5% from deep.

Current NBA stars who have deals with Adidas include Damian Lillard, James Harden and Derrick Rose. Kobe Bryant, Tracy McGrady, Kevin Garnett and Chauncey Billups also previously had deals with the company.

Edwards joins LaMelo Ball, who signed a deal with Puma, as the only two members of the 2020 draft class to have shoe deals. Golden State Warriors star James Wiseman will likely be next in line to land an endorsement deal.
