Momentum around Golden State has continued to build as the buyout process unfolds. NBA insider Jake Fischer reported that the Warriors have their sights set on Ball and are conducting medical evaluations as part of their due diligence. 

Denver is also monitoring the situation, but league chatter suggests Golden State may be in a better position to offer the California-born a clearer role.

Ball’s tenure with Cleveland was shaped by circumstance as much as performance. The Cavaliers were in a win-now posture and lacked the flexibility to allow him extended time to regain rhythm after missing multiple seasons due to serious knee injuries. 

That environment led to reduced opportunities rather than gradual reintegration. Golden State’s situation is different. With expectations recalibrated by injuries and recent roster turnover, the Warriors can afford to take a low-risk swing.
