Reporter Indicates How LA Is Looking To Upgrade Roster Via Trade
USA TODAY Sports

Your Los Angeles Lakers' 2023-24 season has been a complete roller coaster, with multiple ups and downs along the way. They've played very poorly of late and will be looking to the trade deadline for some help.

NBA insider Chris Haynes of Bleacher Report gave some insight into what the Lakers will be looking for at the trade deadline. Los Angeles has been linked with multiple players and will be looking to make some moves.

"With the Feb. 8 trade deadline approaching, the Lakers are seeking speed and quickness in the backcourt, sources say. The Lakers want to push the pace offensively and are interested in someone who can serve as a point-of-attack defender."

Per Chris Haynes of Bleacher Report

The Lakers have been mentioned with multiple All-Star-level players this year already. This includes Zach LaVine of the Chicago Bulls and Dejounte Murray of the Atlanta Hawks.

Both players would serve the Lakers well compared to what they have on the roster right now, but the question is what Los Angeles has to offer. The Lakers don't have many assets to use in a big trade, and the few that they have, they will be hesitant to move.

This includes guard Austin Reaves, who has become one of the favorites on the roster. But the front office also knows how important it is to stay competitive with LeBron James on the roster, so it could see them pull the trigger on a move.

Even with all the drama surrounding the team, head coach Darvin Ham still believes in them. He knows they haven't played well, but has faith that they will figure things out.

"I don't know what will happen with our roster, but I like our team," Ham told B/R. "AD is playing some of his best basketball. LeBron is still LeBron. I believe we will get rolling again. We'll figure this out."

Per Chris Haynes of Bleacher Report

If the Lakers can't make any big moves at the deadline, the season may have run its course. This L.A. team isn't fully together right now, and it has shown in their play on the court.
