RJ Barrett Away From Raptors After Death Of Brother

According to NBA reporter Marc J. Spears of ESPN, RJ Barrett is away from the Toronto Raptors after the death of his younger brother, Nathan. 

The Raptors acquired Barrett from the New York Knicks this season. Barrett, who was born and raised in Toronto, was the third overall pick in the 2019 NBA Draft out of Duke. 

The 23-year-old Barrett is averaging 19.5 points, 5.3 rebounds and 3.2 assists this season with the Knicks and Raptors while shooting 48.9% from the field, 36.9% from beyond the arc and 70.9% from the free-throw line. 

The Raptors are 23-43. They are in 12th place in the Eastern Conference standings. 

Barrett has career averages of 18.3 points, 5.4 rebounds and 2.9 assists with the Knicks and Raptors.
