The Houston Rockets are bringing back a pair of veterans, reaching one-year agreements with guard Aaron Holiday and forward Jeff Green, according to The Athletic’s Kelly Iko.
Both players will return on minimum-salary deals, as Houston continues to fill out its roster with experienced depth. The moves had been expected after reports surfaced Friday that the team intended to re-sign Holiday, Green, and forward Jae’Sean Tate. Tate agreed to a one-year, $3 million contract earlier Monday.
Holiday, 28, served as a steady reserve guard last season, averaging 5.5 points, 1.3 assists and 1.3 rebounds while shooting 39.8 percent from three. Despite the efficiency, his playing time was limited, with a career-low 12.8 minutes per game.
Rather than exercise his $4.9 million team option, the Rockets declined it and opted to bring him back at a reduced cap hit ($2.3 million), giving the team more flexibility.
Green, 37, also saw a reduced role in 2024–25, appearing in 32 games and averaging 5.4 points and 1.8 rebounds in 12.4 minutes per contest. Still, the 17-year veteran remained a valued presence in the locker room and made the most of his time on the floor, shooting 50.4 percent overall and 36.7 percent from beyond the arc.
Houston still has a decision pending on center Jock Landale, whose $8 million salary for next season is non-guaranteed. Releasing Landale would free up the full $14.1 million non-taxpayer mid-level exception.
