Kevin Durant is no longer the only former Phoenix Sun on the Houston Rockets roster.
The Rockets announced on Wednesday that they have signed veteran guard Josh Okogie in free agency. Okogie himself also confirmed the news in a post to his X page.

Houston, we have a problem.

Shams Charania of ESPN reports that Okogie’s deal with the Rockets is for one year and $3.1 million.
Okogie, 26, averaged 7.1 points per game last season on a career-high 34.8 percent from three. He excels as a perimeter defender with his 6-foot-4 frame and 7-foot wingspan and also played with the new Rockets star Durant on the Phoenix Suns from 2023-25.
Durant, who was acquired by Houston in a blockbuster trade last month, has already been reunited with several old teammates on the Rockets. Jeff Green and Steven Adams both already played with Durant during his days on the Oklahoma City Thunder, and Houston even hired an ex-Durant college teammate to serve in their management.
As for Okogie, he might not get too many minutes with the Rockets next season given that the team is already loaded with talented wings (including Amen Thompson, Tari Eason, Reed Sheppard, and an expensive recent free agent addition). But at the absolute least, Okogie will be getting a chance to chase a ring next season with his well-known old pal Durant.
