Russell Westbrook and Patrick Beverley will get rings if Lakers win championship

Patrick Beverley and Russell Westbrook got traded at the deadline. But if the Lakers go all the way, they'll still get rings.

Last week, Beverley said on his podcast that Westbrook told him he wanted a championship ring if the Lakers won the title, despite finishing the season as a member of the Los Angeles Clippers. Beverley, who ended up a Chicago Bull, agreed, saying "We're going to be suited and booted, and I'll be right there waiting for my ring."

The Lakers announced that any player who was on their roster at any time this season would get a ring. That's a policy started by general manager Rob Pelinka, and it means that Westbrook and Beverley could potentially get their first rings.

L.A. brought in six new players at the trade deadline while saying goodbye to those two point guards. They've had 24 different players take the court in Forum blue and gold this season, meaning that rings could also be coming to players such as Scotty Pippen, Jr., Kendrick Nunn, Thomas Bryant and Sterling Brown.

Juan Toscano-Anderson could get his second straight ring, despite finishing the season in Utah, and his Jazz teammate Damian Jones is in line for his third championship ring. That's more than Hakeem Olajuwon and David Robinson.

Of course, the Lakers still need to get past the defending champs in their second-round series, which they lead 2-1. But if the Warriors survive and repeat as champions, we're sure James Wiseman will appreciate his ring as well.
