Russell Westbrook Attended The Grand Opening Of His Store In Los Angeles: "Our Star Sales Associate Is Here."
Mark J. Rebilas-USA TODAY Sports

Russell Westbrook was spotted at the opening of his new store in Los Angeles.

Russell Westbrook's exploits on the court in Los Angeles leave much to be desired, the point guard is expected to perform at a much higher level than he has shown since joining his hometown franchise last season. But basketball isn't everything, there is more to Russell Westbrook and his life than just what occurs on the court.

Russ is a family man, spending time with his children, a side of him that arguably isn't spoken about much in the media, but outside of that, his biggest hobby seems to be centered around passion. In recent NBA history, Russ has become a fashion icon, sporting daring looks at events and showing off his unique personal sense of style.

Westbrook has turned his passion for fashion and clothing into a business, launching his brand called Honor The Gift in 2017. He described the brand as a story of a kid from the inner city (via Fashion Network).

"The story of a kid from the Inner City of Los Angeles," said Westbrook. "A brand founded on self-belief and dedication to never stop working toward your greatness no matter the hardship."

And Westbrook, who had been waiting to open a store to showcase his collections, recently did that at 130 North La Brea Avenue in Los Angeles, a momentous occasion.

Russell Westbrook Was Seen At The Grand Opening Of His New Store In Los Angeles

With Westbrook launching his winter collection called 'District', it was supposed to be a big event for the brand and the former MVP as well. And the man himself was present at the event, with jokes about him being a sales associate to promote his new store.

"Our star sales associate is here working today."

Russell has shown time and again that this is something he deeply cares about, so it's good to see him find success on that front. What makes Russ so wonderful is the fact that he never stops himself from being who he is, something that his brand undoubtedly also represents. And like many other NBA stars, it's great to see Westbrook expanding his businesses and growing his wealth.

Ultimately, none of this is something fans will care about should Russ not get back to playing winning basketball. His role with the Lakers has been a matter of some speculation, but he should reasonably be expected to start. If he can use his off-court success to motivate him, a Russell Westbrook revenge season might just be on the cards.
