Russell Westbrook Gives Incredible Christmas Shoe Gift
USA TODAY Sports

Russell Westbrook is often noted as one of the nicest players in the NBA and one of the best teammates. The quality of his actions typically goes beyond what the media or fans can usually see, and what he did on Saturday afternoon was a perfect example of that.

Lost in the shuffle of the Clippers facing the Boston Celtics, was the fact that Russell Westbrook gifted every single Clippers basketball operations staff member a pair of his Jordan One Take 4 shoes, as revealed by Tomer Azarly. This included every ball boy, mop boy, and team attendant, an overall number that reaches near at least 50.

Most basketball operations staff members don't necessarily make a large amount of money. It's a job that starts from the bottom and works its way all the way to the top, with only a marginal amount at the top making solid money. For many in that industry, the job is more about being a part of the team and being in the sports world than it is about the money. For a player of Russell Westbrook's caliber to recognize that, and give the entire department a Christmas gift, is an incredibly kind gesture.

Moments like these are why Russell Westbrook is so beloved by staff and team members. Those are the moments that critics need to remember more, too.
