Russell Westbrook Has Interesting Injury Update After Nuggets' Game 4 Win

The first-round series between the Denver Nuggets and the LA Clippers could very well go seven games deep.

Outside of a Game 3 blunder by the Nuggets, it's been an incredibly close series. The two sides are tied 2-2 through four games, with the series headed back to Denver for Game 5.

Three of the four games have been decided by just one basket, with plenty of theatrics involved, especially in the recent contest.

With the Nuggets playing in the Intuit Dome -- which has absolutely delivered as a playoff environment -- they were able to hit a game-winner in Game 4 to even out the series.

Nikola Jokic shot an airball, though Aaron Gordon was able to secure a put-back dunk to give the squad a 101-99 victory over the Clippers.

The Serbian superstar, despite the last shot airball, was brilliant. He scored 36 points, adding 21 rebounds and eight assists while shooting 14-of-25 from the field.

It was needed, too, as the Nuggets were without Russell Westbrook, who was out with injury. Jamal Murray also struggled, with Michael Porter Jr. even dealing with a shoulder injury.

Westbrook offers injury update before Game 5

With the series headed back to Denver, ESPN's Ramona Shelbourne asked Westbrook, after the game, for an injury update.

“That’s a trick question," Westbrook said with a smile.

“No trick. It’s my job to ask if you’ll be back for Game 5," Shelbourne followed up.

“I’ll be in the building," Westbrook remarked.

So, his playing status will be a bit of a mystery in the Nuggets' upcoming contest. The legendary guard will be in the building, though, there is no doubt about that.

Westbrook's energy would certainly be impactful, as he can provide quite a bump for the squad when healthy.

He'll likely want to play in a pivotal game against his former squad, though it'll depend on how his foot responds in workouts.
