Russell Westbrook Made NBA History In Celtics-Clippers Game
USA TODAY Sports

On Saturday afternoon, the Los Angeles Clippers  are hosting the Boston Celtics in California.

Russell Westbrook is playing in his 1,123rd game, which moves him ahead of Hal Greer and ties Lou Williams for 67th on the all-time regular season games played  list

Following Williams, the next player for Westbrook to pass will be Jeff Green (1,132).

Westbrook came into the day with averages of 11.3 points, 6.5 rebounds, 4.6 assists and 1.1 steals per contest while shooting 46.4% from the field in 28 games.

The Clippers are 17-11 in their first 28 games, which has them as the fifth seed in the Western Conference.

They are 9-1 over their last ten games and most recently lost to the Oklahoma City Thunder by a score of 134-115.

The loss snapped a nine-game winning streak.

In 30 minutes of playing time, Westbrook had 15 points, 13 rebounds and four assists while shooting 7/12 from the field.

Following the Celtics, the Clippers will remain at home to host the Charlotte Hornets on Tuesday evening in Los Angeles.

They are 11-3 in the 14 games they have played on their home floor.

Westbrook was the fourth pick in the 2008 NBA Draft out of UCLA and is in his 16th season playing in the league.

He is among the best point guards of all time and will be a Hall of Famer one day.

In addition to the Clippers, Westbrook has also played for the Los Angeles Lakers, Washington Wizards, Houston Rockets and Oklahoma City Thunder.
