With his 23rd point in Friday night’s game vs. the Detroit Pistons, LA Clippers star Russell Westbrook became the 25th player in NBA history to reach 25,000 career points. With this milestone, Westbrook joined LeBron James as the only other player in NBA history with at least 25,000 points, 9,000 assists, and 8,000 rebounds.

Westbrook also recorded his 1,061st career game in double-digit scoring. This ties Hall-of-Fame point guard John Stockton for the 21st most such games in NBA history. Westbrook recently passed NBA legend Michael Jordan on this list, which was quite the accomplishment. This list highlights both longevity and consistency, which are two areas of Westbrook’s career that separate him from many other all-time greats.

Still capable of high-level production, Westbrook is playing a key role on this Clippers team that hopes to win it all this season. Finishing with 23 points, 9 assists, 3 rebounds, and 2 steals in this game, Westbrook did some of everything to help the Clippers come away with a win in Detroit.

Speaking on the broadcast after the game, Westbrook said, "First and foremost I give thanks to God for allowing me to be able to play the game I love. It’s a blessing. I don’t take any day, any night for granted. I’m grateful to be able to play the game of basketball and use my platform to impact and inspire other people."
