Russell Westbrook was once one of the top players in the NBA. He won the MVP in 2017, two scoring titles, three assists titles, and he famously averaged a triple-double for a season four times.
Ever since the former Oklahoma City Thunder star played for the Los Angeles Lakers his value across the league has dropped. He’s now a free agent and wants to test the waters, but reportedly there is not much interest from teams.
According to NBA insider Jake Fischer, there are really only three teams interested in the nine-time All-Star.
“Sacramento and New York were the only teams outside of Denver that I’ve heard for Russell Westbrook. There could be new teams. Milwaukee, I know, is looking for a guard right now. Indiana is looking for a guard. Have not heard them necessarily connected to Russell Westbrook, but it’s possible.”

Despite not being his former MVP self, Westbrook is still a solid player. He averaged 13.3 points, 4.9 rebounds, and 6.1 assists per game, on 44.9% shooting last season for the Denver Nuggets.
If Westbrook can continue to embrace a sixth man role, he can certainly help a contending team reach a new level.
