While eight teams are still competing for a chance at a championship in the NBA playoffs, the other 22 teams are preparing for the offseason.
Among them is the Sacramento Kings who failed to make the playoffs after they were eliminated by the Dallas Mavericks in the first round of the Play-In Tournament.
It was a disappointing season overall for the Kings as they failed to live up to expectations and instead went through a season full of change.
Of course, it all started late in December when the team fired head coach Mike Brown and replaced him with Doug Christie.
They then traded their star point guard De’Aaron Fox to the San Antonio Spurs at the trade deadline in the same deal that landed them Zach LaVine from the Chicago Bulls.
Sacramento then struggled for the remainder of the season and they are expected to make some major changes in the offseason after hiring a new general manager.
One change they are expected to make, according to NBA insider Jake Fischer, is trading away their star forward DeMar DeRozan in the offseason.
“The focus in the California capital shifts now to what sort of dealing we could see from the Kings' new regime. There has been no shortage of rumbles, since the hiring of Scott Perry as general manager, that Sacramento is expected to gauge the trade market for veteran swingman DeMar DeRozan,” Fisher said.

Of course, the Kings made a splash by landing DeRozan in the offseason in a sign-and-trade from the Bulls, but it did not work in their favor after their disappointing season.
With the Kings now looking to retool their roster this summer, it looks as though DeRozan is likely to be on the move.
DeRozan did have a solid first season with the Kings and there should be quite a few teams that show interest in acquiring him this summer, though it all depends on what Sacramento wants in return for him.
