The Sacramento Kings' 2024-25 season ended on April 16 when the franchise lost to the Dallas Mavericks in the play-in round. It was a disappointing finish considering the Kings had high expectations after bringing in DeMar DeRozan during the offseason to complement De'Aaron Fox and Domantas Sabonis.

However, the season took a turn when Sacramento traded Fox to the San Antonio Spurs in exchange for Zach LaVine, Sidy Cissoko and a slew of future draft picks. Sacramento ended up with three first-rounders (2025, 2027 & 2031) and three second-round picks (2025 & two in 2028).

For one Kings player, 2025 will be much more memorable for what happened off the court than perhaps what happened on the court.

Jake LaRavia, who averaged 19.3 minutes per game for Sacramento after being traded to the Kings from the Memphis Grizzlies, announced his engagement to Taja McLean on social media.

The post includes several photos showing LaRavia down on one knee and later embracing his partner. An ecstatic McLean then shows off her engagement ring. The post's caption reads, "Thank You God, Where Our Story Began Another Chapter Continues Mr And Mrs LaRavia Loading…"

LaRavia's current and past teammates and other NBA stars shared their congratulations in the comments section.

"Hey now JAKEFARM !!!! YESSIR !!", said teammate Mason Jones.

"congrats !" shared Memphis' Jaren Jackson Jr.

"Congrats gangsta," read another reply from Desmond Bane of the Memphis Grizzlies, a former teammate.

"Congrats my boy!!!!!" said Yuki Kawamura of the Grizzlies.

"Congrats my dawg," replied Memphis' Scotty Pippen Jr.

LaRavia played for the Grizzlies from 2022 until midway through this season.

A 6-foot-7 forward, LaRavia was the No. 19 overall pick in the 2022 NBA Draft by the Minnesota Timberwolves. His draft rights were then traded to Memphis.

In February, a three-team deal headlined by Marcus Smart being sent to the Washington Wizards, LaRavia was sent to the Kings.
