On Friday evening, the San Antonio Spurs hosted the Chicago Bulls in Texas.

They lost the game by a score of 121-112 and will play their next game on Monday when they visit the Houston Rockets

On Sunday, the team announced that they had assigned Charles Bassey to the Austin Spurs (G League).

Via The Austin Spurs: "OFFICIAL: The San Antonio Spurs today announced that they have assigned center Charles Bassey to the Austin Spurs."

Bassey has played in 19 games so far this season and is averaging 3.3 points, 4.0 rebounds and 1.1 assists per contest while shooting 72.5% from the field.

He was the 53rd pick in the 2021 NBA Draft and is in his second season with the Spurs (he spent his rookie season with the Philadelphia 76ers).

His career averages are 4.3 points, 4.3 rebounds and 1.0 assists per contest while shooting 65.8% from the field and 23.1% from the three-point range in 77 regular season games (he has also appeared in three NBA playoff games).

As for the Spurs, they are the 15th seed in the Western Conference with a 3-18 record in their first 21 games (they are in the middle of a 16-game losing streak).

At home, the Spurs have gone 1-10 in 11 games, while they are 2-8 in the ten games they have played on the road away from San Antonio.

The franchise has won five NBA Championships since 1999, but they are also coming off a year where they missed the NBA playoffs for the fourth straight season.
