San Antonio Spurs Make Roster Move Before Pelicans Game

On Sunday afternoon, the San Antonio Spurs  will host the New Orleans Pelicans in Texas. 

Before the game, the team made a roster move by assigning Blake Wesley to the Austin Spurs (G League).  

Via Karl Schoening: "The San Antonio Spurs announce that Blake Wesley has been assigned to Austin. Blake will be available for the Spurs final home game of Showcase Cup play tomorrow vs RGV."

Wesley has played in six games so far this season and is averaging 1.2 points and 1.0 rebounds per contest while shooting 37.5% from the field. 

The Spurs are 4-20 in their first 24 games, which has them as the 15th seed in the Western Conference. 

They most recently defeated LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers by a score of 129-115 (on Friday at home). 

The victory snapped an 18-game losing streak, and Wesley played two minutes and had one assist. 

Wesley was the 25th pick in the 2022 NBA Draft and has played in 43 career games. 

His averages are 4.4 points, 1.9 rebounds and 2.4 assists per contest while shooting 32.3% from the field and 37.7% from the three-point range. 

Following the Pelicans, the Spurs will play their next game on Tuesday evening when they visit Damian Lillard and the Milwaukee Bucks in Wisconsin.  

As for the Pelicans, they are the ninth seed in the Western Conference with a 15-11 record in their first 26 games. 

They are 6-4 over their last ten games and in the middle of a three-game winning streak.
