The San Antonio Spurs will look to take a giant leap in the Western Conference this year.

Led by 21-year-old phenom Victor Wembanyama, the Spurs have their sights set on breaking their six-year playoff drought.

The Spurs added starting point guard De’Aaron Fox at last season’s trade deadline and he will have a full season to play alongside Wembanyama.

Also, the Spurs continued to add to their younger talent when they secured the No. 2 pick and selected Dylan Harper.

The Spurs have put together a young intriguing roster, one that can take the West by storm.

On a young roster, it’s important to have valuable veteran pieces.

The Spurs added one, signing Bismack Biyombo to a one-year deal.

Biyombo’s has reached a new contract with the Spurs and this will be his 15th season in the NBA.

The 33-year-old averaged 5.1 points and 5.6 rebounds in 28 games last season for San Antonio.

Biyombo gives the Spurs an experienced backup big who can rebound, block shots and finish at the rim.

NBA fans react to San Antonio Spurs bringing back Bismack Biyombo

The Spurs adding Biyombo for this season has received plenty of positive reactions.

“This is awesome. Definitely a culture signing. Biyombo is a serviceable 3rd/4th big, but an even better human being. Happy for this Thunder legend,” one fan wrote.

Another fan recognized that this signing was a big boost to the Spurs’ frontcourt, saying, “Great locker room presence and interior insurance. 15 man roster is now solidified.”

One fan acknowledged that players like Biyombo still hold a lot of value, noting, “The perfect example that you don’t have to be a shooting five to find a spot in the NBA.”
