San Antonio Spurs Sign 3-Year NBA Player
USA TODAY Sports

Paul Watson most recently played in the NBA during the 2021-22 season when he was a member of the Oklahoma City Thunder.

That year, he averaged 3.4 points and 3.0 rebounds per contest while shooting 34.3% from the field and 23.1% from the three-point range in nine regular season games.

This summer, Watson was a free agent, and he has now signed a deal with the San Antonio Spurs (according to RealGM).

Paul Garcia of Project Spurs added more details.

Via Garcia: "The Spurs have also signed Paul Watson to a training camp deal.

The Spurs' training camp roster is now full with 21 players."

In addition to the Thunder, Watson has also spent time in the NBA with the Atlanta Hawks and Toronto Raptors.

Over three years, he has career averages of 3.8 points and 1.9 rebounds per contest while shooting 42.0% from the field and 39.2% from the three-point range in 46 regular season games.

Watson has also played part of four seasons in the G League and has career averages of 10.0 points, 4.7 rebounds and 1.2 assists per contest while shooting 45.5% from the field and 37.9% from the three-point range in 134 regular season games (he has also appeared in eight Showcase Cup games and three G League playoff games).

As for the Spurs, they are coming off a year where they were the 15th seed in the Western Conference with a 22-60 record.

They missed the NBA playoffs (and the play-in tournament) for the fourth straight season.
