The college basketball season ended in exciting and dramatic fashion on Monday night. The Florida Gators cut down the nets after winning the national championship in an all-time classic against Houston.

Florida is still celebrating a well-earned national title, but the focus is now shifting to the hundreds of players who are still in the transfer portal. Many of those players have the potential to change a program, and one prominent name recently announced his transfer decision.

On Tuesday, former Michigan guard Justin Pippen - the son of NBA legend Scottie - announced that he would be transferring to Cal.

Pippen entered the transfer portal shortly after the Wolverines were eliminated from the NCAA Tournament, and he's already been able to find a new destination.

Pippen played this season at Michigan after committing to head coach Dusty May's program last year. He entered as a four-star recruit ahead of his freshman season, and became an important piece of the team's rotation throughout the season.

A concussion limited his time at the end of the year, and ultimately forced him out of Michigan's first two games in the NCAA Tournament as well as the Big Ten tournament.

Pippen appeared in 28 games for Michigan this season. He averaged around 6.6 minutes per contest, and looks to find more playing time and opportunities at Cal after transferring.

Cal finished near the bottom of the ACC in their first season as a member of the conference. The Bears ended the year with a 14-19 record, going 6-14 in conference play. The program has not advanced to the NCAA Tournament since 2016 - the same season future Finals MVP Jaylen Brown played there.

Pippen will have the opportunity to lead the Golden Bears back to the Big Dance after a decade away from college basketball's biggest stage. As relative newcomers to the ACC, they'll face tough challenges in teams like Duke, Louisville and North Carolina.

We'll see how Cal handles the rigors of another ACC schedule next season, and we'll see how Pippen does after making the move out west for more playing time and more meaningful opportunities on the court.
