Seven Straight: Short-Handed Heat Outlast Bucks Behind Larsson’s Career Night 112-105
Memphis Grizzlies forward GG Jackson (45) drives to the basket as Miami Heat guard Pelle Larsson (9)

The Kaseya Center was rocking on Thursday night, and for good reason. The Miami Heat are playing their best basketball of the season right now, stringing together victories and proving that no amount of injuries can derail a locker room bought into a singular goal.

Coming off an otherworldly, historic 83-point explosion in his previous outing, Bam Adebayo didn’t need to put on a cape and play Superman this time around. Instead, he relied on a gritty, collective effort from his teammates to help the Heat secure a 112-105 victory over the struggling Milwaukee Bucks, extending Miami’s season-best winning streak to seven games.

Bam Adebayo Delivers When the Heat Needs Him Most

Following up on an 83-point game is an impossible task for anyone, but Adebayo showed exactly why he is the emotional leader of this franchise. Rather than forcing up bad shots, the big man let the game come to him, finishing with a hard-fought 21 points and eight rebounds.

More importantly, he turned it on when the lights were brightest. Adebayo scored 12 of his 21 points in the fourth quarter, bullying his way to the rim and living at the free-throw line. When the Bucks tried to mount a late comeback, Bam was the steadying force the Heat needed to keep the ship pointed in the right direction. He understands that chasing greatness isn’t just about individual accolades; it’s about making the right read when the game hangs in the balance.

Pelle Larsson Steals the Show for the Heat

With a massive chunk of the team’s offensive production watching from the bench in street clothes—including Tyler Herro, Andrew Wiggins, Norman Powell, and Nikola Jovic—somebody had to step up. Enter Pelle Larsson.

The young forward picked the perfect night to play the best basketball of his professional career, pouring in a career-high 28 points to go along with six rebounds and six assists. Larsson was everywhere, shooting an incredibly efficient 9-for-14 from the floor and playing with a level of confidence that visibly rattled the Milwaukee defense.

The defining moment of the night belonged entirely to Larsson. With just under a minute left to play and the Heat clinging to a narrow lead, Giannis Antetokounmpo pulled up for a wide-open three-pointer that would have tied the game. The ball rimmed out. Larsson immediately grabbed the crucial defensive rebound, pushed the pace, and 24 seconds later splashed a dagger three-pointer of his own to stretch the lead to six. Ballgame.

The Bucks Stumble Again Despite Giannis’ Effort

On the other side of the court, the vibe couldn’t be more different. The Milwaukee Bucks are a team searching for answers they simply don’t have. Giannis Antetokounmpo did everything in his power to drag his squad across the finish line, leading all scorers with 31 points while shooting 50 percent from the floor. Bobby Portis chipped in 19 points off the bench, and Ryan Rollins added a 16-point, 10-assist double-double.

But it wasn’t enough. The Bucks have now dropped seven of their last eight matchups, watching their record sink to a dismal 27-38. To add insult to injury, Milwaukee finally had its fully healthy starting lineup available for the first time since opening night—only for starting guard Ousmane Dieng to leave the game early with an illness.

Bucks head coach Doc Rivers sounded like a man who was running out of patience in his postgame presser. “We’ve had the starting group that we’ve had to start the season once,” Rivers told reporters.

What This Means for the Heat Playoff Push

While Milwaukee searches for a lifeline, the Miami Heat are gearing up for a brutal Eastern Conference playoff race. Role players are hitting their stride at the perfect time. Kasparas Jakučionis provided a massive spark with 18 points, Davion Mitchell orchestrated the offense with 13 points and five assists, and Kel’el Ware dominated the glass with 13 crucial rebounds.

With this win, Miami improves to 38-29, sitting comfortably in the No. 6 seed but remaining just percentage points behind the equally red-hot Orlando Magic.

The stage is now set for a massive Saturday night showdown in Miami, as the Heat prepare to host the Magic. If Thursday night was any indication, Erik Spoelstra’s squad is more than ready for the fight.
