Free agent guard Dalano Banton, who was waived by the Celtics last month, is drawing interest from “several” EuroLeague teams, according to Encestando (Twitter link). Multiple teams in Spain, Olympiacos in Greece, and Turkey’s Besiktas are among the clubs eyeing Banton, per the Spanish outlet.

Matteo Andreani of BeBasket, who confirms the news, identifies Partizan Belgrade (Serbia) and Valencia Basket (Spain) as two more EuroLeague teams interested in Banton, though other clubs are monitoring his situation as well.

Banton also drew overseas interest last summer, Andreani notes, before spending most of 2025/26 in the G League with the Texas Legends, Dallas’ affiliate. The 6’8″ Canadian signed 10-day deals with the Clippers and Celtics in February and then signed a multiyear contract with Boston just before the ’25/26 regular season ended.

Banton, a five-year NBA veteran, appeared in six games with the Clips and Celtics last season, averaging 2.0 points and 1.8 assists in 10.3 minutes per contest. He holds career averages of 6.6 PPG, 2.2 RPG and 2.0 APG on .401/.303/.732 shooting in 222 appearances (14.4 MPG).

The 46th overall pick of the 2021 draft, Banton offers an intriguing mix of size and versatility as a tall play-maker who’s capable creating for himself and others and defending multiple positions. However, his jump shot remains a work in progress and his assist-to-turnover ratio hasn’t been great for a player who has been pretty ball-dominant.

It remains to be seen whether Banton will make the move overseas or if he’ll prioritize a chance to continue his career in the NBA, perhaps on a non-guaranteed deal.
