Shai Gilgeous-Alexander continues his sensational start to the NBA season, now tying a long-standing record last held by Oscar Robertson.

The Oklahoma City Thunder have gotten off to a brilliant start to the NBA season, going undefeated in their first seven games.

A big part of their 7-0 start has been the performances from Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, who has been nothing short of phenomenal while averaging 33.6 points, 5.9 assists, and 5.1 rebounds.

While his scoring numbers have been phenomenal, Mark Daigneault believes Shai’s playmaking has led the Thunder to success.

So far, Shai has started the season breaking records. In fact, Shai broke Michael Jordan’s record from 1991 to start the season. And he has continued that streak, with Oscar Robertson being next on his list.

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander ties Oscar Robertson for consecutive 20+ point regular season games

With his 30-point outing against the New Orleans Pelicans, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander notched his 79th consecutive regular-season game with 20+ points.

This puts him tied at third place with Oscar Robertson for most consecutive regular season games with 20 points.

The only player ahead of them both right now is Wilt Chamberlain, who holds the record for second place with 92 games and first place with 126 games.

This just speaks to how consistently great Shai Gilgeous-Alexander has been for the last year, as he continues to make his way into the history books.

It’s very possible that Shai Gilgeous-Alexander ends up passing Wilt Chamberlain for second place this season.

Oklahoma City Thunder look unstoppable this season

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander’s insane numbers look even more impressive when taking into consideration the winning record the Thunder have been able to attain so far.

Shai and the Thunder look like champions right now, something most defending NBA champions struggle with to start the season.

What’s even more concerning is that the Thunder are still missing Jalen Williams, who is their second-best player. But they’re still undefeated, which should be a warning to the rest of the NBA.

The Thunder are not messing around this season. And any team that is going to be facing them must be ready to put up a strong fight, as a win against the Thunder will be very difficult.
