He is the Most Valuable Player in the NBA this season for a reason, but his sights are set on more.
Shai Gilgeous-Alexander wants to bring a championship to Oklahoma City. The 26-year-old has guided the Thunder to the Western Conference Finals for the first time since the 2011-12 season. Alexander delivered OKC to the best regular season record, while defeating the Grizzlies and Nuggets to advance the Thunder to this point. His performance on Sunday in Game 7 of the semifinals against Denver was legendary. SGA collected a game-high 35 points on 12-of-19 shooting from the field.
He had three rebounds, four assists, three steals, and a block in the Thunder’s 125-93 win.
Alexander joined Kevin Durant as the second player in OKC history to score 35+ points in a Game 7 victory. He has an opportunity to do something Durant did not do in his 10 seasons (2007-16) with Thunder/Seattle Supersonics franchise.
