The Oklahoma City Thunder extended their winning streak to 11 games on Wednesday night, defeating a short-handed Detroit Pistons squad 119-103. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander led the way with 33 points, adding six rebounds, three assists, three steals and two blocks in a well-rounded performance.
Despite an inefficient shooting night—going 10-of-26 from the field and 2-of-7 from beyond the arc—Gilgeous-Alexander made history. The 26-year-old recorded his 69th consecutive game with at least 20 points, tying Michael Jordan for the fourth-longest single-season streak in NBA history. It’s a feat that highlights his consistency, scoring ability and place among the game’s elite.
Only three players have posted longer streaks: Wilt Chamberlain, who holds the record with an 80-game stretch in both the 1961-62 and 1963-64 seasons; Oscar Robertson, who reached 76 games in 1963-64; and Jordan, who set the 69-game mark during his championship-winning 1990-91 campaign.
Now, Gilgeous-Alexander finds himself in legendary company, further cementing his status as one of the NBA’s premier scorers.

His streak began on Oct. 30 after an 18-point performance against the San Antonio Spurs in Oklahoma City’s fourth game of the season. Since then, he has been relentless, delivering high-volume performances night after night.
The Thunder star has recorded four 50-point games this season, including a season-high 54-point outburst against the Utah Jazz on Jan. 22. For much of the year, he has led the NBA in scoring (32.8) and remains a frontrunner in the MVP race alongside Nikola Jokic.
Gilgeous-Alexander’s dominance isn’t just statistical as it's directly translating to wins. The Thunder sit atop the Western Conference with a league-best 64-12 record, holding a three-game lead over the Cleveland Cavaliers in the race for home-court advantage throughout the playoffs.
With just six games remaining in the regular season, Oklahoma City is in prime position to secure the NBA’s top seed, led by a superstar whose historic season shows no signs of slowing down.
