New York Knicks star Karl-Anthony Towns was stellar on Sunday night. He led his squad to a brilliant comeback against the Indiana Pacers.

With the Knicks trailing the Pacers 0-2 in the Eastern Conference Finals leading into Game 3, it was a must-win for New York.

Once they got down 20 points in the first half -- and trailed all of the third quarter -- it seemed the series was all but over.

Then Towns happened.

The Knicks' All-Star center poured in 20 points and pulled down eight rebounds in the fourth quarter alone to propel the Knicks past the Pacers for a pivotal victory on the road.

Given New York's foul trouble, including Towns with three first-half fouls, it was easy to write them off in the game, and, in turn, in the series.

Early in the game, fans were calling for Tom Thibodeau's job, speculating on potential candidates to replace him.

Shaquille O'Neal -- an NBA legend -- was in the studio at halftime, calling out Towns, claiming he'd have to fight him in the locker room if they were teammates.

“We’d be fighting in the locker room right now,” added O’Neal. “We’re down 0-2, and we’re taking 35-footers? Take a couple of dribbles. Back the little man down, shoot your jump hook.”

At the time, Towns, along with the rest of the Knicks, was struggling. He turned things around in a major way, though. O'Neal ate his words.

Towns finished the game with 24 points and 15 rebounds. He got in the paint, he nailed 3-pointers and he did whatever it took to propel his team back into the game.

The All-Star center saved the series for the Knicks -- and maybe even his future with the club -- with his performance.
