Shorthanded Hawks demolish Lakers in Atlanta

The Los Angeles Lakers have been the surprise team of the league so far this season. They have been without LeBron James and they’ve seen injuries to Luka Doncic and Austin Reaves.

Despite all of this, the Lakers entered their Saturday game against the Atlanta Hawks with a 6-2 record. This was the perfect opportunity for the Lakers to nab their seventh win as the Hawks were without their star guard, Trae Young.

The Hawks would not fold, as they pounced all over the Lakers, taking a 30-point lead at one point and winning 122-102. Atlanta was led by Mouhamed Gueye, who scored 21 points on an efficient 8-12 shooting.

As for the Lakers, Doncic finally cooled off scoring 22 points on just 7-17 shooting. The Lakers will have a chance to redeem themselves on Monday when they travel to Charlotte to face the Hornets.
