Six-time All-Star expected to hit trade market this offseason

At this year's trade deadline, the NBA saw multiple All-Star-level talents change teams. As the offseason slowly starts to get underway for many teams, the rumor mill is beginning to heat up with more high-level talents who could be made available this offseason.

Among the teams to go through a lot of change this season was the Sacramento Kings. First, they parted ways with head coach Mike Brown. Not long after, De'Aaron Fox was dealt to the San Antonio Spurs in a trade that landed the Kings' Zach LaVine.

It appears the winds of change aren't done blowing in Sacramento as more key members of the roster could be on the way out. NBA insider Jake Fischer reported that Sacramento is expected to test the market for DeMar DeRozan this offseason.

"The focus in the California capital shifts now to what sort of dealing we could see from the Kings' new regime," Fischer wrote. "There has been no shortage of rumbles, since the hiring of Scott Perry as general manager, that Sacramento is expected to gauge the trade market for veteran swingman DeMar DeRozan."

DeRozan, 35, just wrapped up his first season with the Kings after landing in Sacramento last summer. He is signed through the next two years at about $25M annually. That's not a bad price tag for a player still putting up All-Star-level numbers.

While his days of being a top option are behind him, DeRozan is still capable of being a core piece on a competitive squad. In 77 games for the Kings this season, he averaged 22.2 points, 3.9 rebounds and 4.4 assists per game.

At this stage of his career, there is no telling what kind of trade market would form for a player like DeRozan. That said, teams are sure to express interest. He is someone who rarely misses games and is still more than capable of having a big night offensively when he gets going.

For any middle-of-the-pack team looking to climb the ranks, DeRozan could be an upgrade worth trading for at the right price.
