At this point, there’s no doubt about LeBron James’ place as one of the best players who have ever played the game. Others may say he’s the greatest of all time, while some put him in second place. Safe to say that he’s inside everybody’s Mount Rushmore list, except for Skip Bayless.
Whether LeBron plays another season or not, his impact on the game of basketball is already undeniable. He has won nearly every award imaginable. At this point in his career, it’s all about the desire that he still wants to continue playing. However, playing for 23 years has its downsides, too. Well, at least from Skip Bayless’ perspective, anyway. A known LBJ cynic, he discredited the Lakers star’s place in the game by berating James’ NBA Finals performance in 2011.
“They’re up 2-1. In games 4,5,6, the chosen one became the FROZEN one. Go look at the numbers, they’re horrendous. He averaged 15,8,8, with 5 TOs a game. I saw Dwyane Wade the other day say, ‘I just couldn’t snap him out of it.’ Jordan, Kobe, Bird, they didn’t do this! It’s laughable to me. You’re disqualified from being 1,2,3,4 just off that finals alone!” Bayless wrote.

Truth be told, that was a brutal series for LeBron. It’s like he was not his usual self. But as with all the greats, he bounced back in 2012. And then he did it again in 2013. This seems like a reach for Bayless, though. He’s quite well-known for smearing LBJ’s name whenever he gets the chance to do it.
Another day, another LeBron James hater. Sadly, that’s the reality he’s facing right now. Or maybe that’s the price to pay for playing too long and still performing well 23 years in. For rap music fans, they know all about the Drake-Kendrick Lamar feud. With LBJ siding with the ‘Not Like Us’ rapper, his relationship with the Canadian rapper quickly fractured.
And that led Drake to take a shot at LeBron with his song, ‘1 AM in Albany’ from his newest album, ‘ICEMAN.’ The song is quickly gaining rounds within the NBA community. Will James say anything about it? Maybe not. Or maybe Kendrick Lamar will invite him in one of his music videos in the future.
