Slovenian Teammate Challenges Luka Doncic To Hit An Impossible Shot For 50 Push-Ups

Luka Doncic never shies away from a challenge, and this time it wasn’t under the bright lights of EuroBasket, but in the middle of a casual practice session with Slovenia. A new viral video shows the Los Angeles Lakers superstar being dared by his teammate, veteran center Alen Omic, to hit an impossible shot. The stakes? Fifty push-ups.

Doncic, already packing up his bag to leave practice, was called out by Omic. The spot Omic was pointing at wasn’t just a deep three. It was a launchpad outside the practice court, nearly the exit tunnel of the gym.

Luka didn’t hesitate. He simply set his feet and, without a moment of doubt, fired. The ball sailed across the floor, arced impossibly high, and swished through the net. Omic groaned, and Luka smirked, implying the international version of “hold my beer.”

This wasn’t just a one-off stunt. Doncic has made trick shots something of a tradition, pulling off ridiculous long-range attempts in warmups, shootarounds, and even at charity events. What makes this one stand out is how effortlessly he made it look, like knocking down a jumper from the free-throw line. For Luka, the impossible seems routine.

Another clip from Slovenia’s training camp shows the tables turning. This time, Luka was the one dropping down for push-ups after possibly losing a similar challenge. Yet even in defeat, Doncic kept his fire.

As he counted through his reps, he barked at Omic, reminding him that his turn was coming next. Teammates could be heard laughing in the background, proof of the playful but competitive edge Luka brings everywhere he goes.

Of course, Doncic’s mischievous side doesn’t stop at trick shots. In another lighthearted video, he can be seen acting like a self-proclaimed practice “bully”, smacking teammates on the back of the head, swatting their shots from behind, and trying to throw them off rhythm.

It’s all in good fun, but it shows how Luka balances his fiery competitiveness with a charismatic locker-room presence. Slovenia’s younger players in particular seem to relish the mix of accountability and humor he brings to the group.

On the court, Doncic’s brilliance continues to shine at EuroBasket 2025. Through four games, he’s averaging 31.3 points, 8.3 assists, and 7.3 rebounds, numbers that dwarf nearly everyone else in the tournament. Slovenia, now 2–2, has officially qualified for the Round of 16.

Their hopes of making a deep run rest squarely on Luka’s shoulders, and if his recent triple-double performance against Belgium is any indication, he’s more than ready.

That game against Belgium also produced another viral moment when Luka cussed out his teammates during a heated timeout, urging them to lock in and execute better. Far from being rattled, Slovenia responded with a commanding win as Doncic made history with just the fourth triple-double in EuroBasket since 1995.

With Slovenia still alive in EuroBasket and Luka playing some of the best basketball of his life, fans are seeing not just a superstar in action but a leader who knows how to keep his team sharp, even if it means clowning a teammate into dropping for 50 push-ups.
