Some Members of Raptors Reportedly Would Welcome Trade
Kelley L Cox-USA TODAY Sports

Rial executives throughout the NBA are beginning to sense that the Raptors will indeed make at least one move, perhaps more, before the Feb. 9 trade deadline.

And per Hoops Wire sources, several key Raptors would indeed welcome a trade after an uneven first half of the season that may or may not be getting better.

That’s something that Chris Haynes of Bleacher Report also covered on the This League Uncut podcast with Marc Stein of the Stein Line.

“There’s been rumbling all season long about not just one, but a few players being unhappy over there in Toronto,” Haynes said, prompting Stein to agree.

“The season has not gone as they had hoped. It’s a really talented roster, too. It’s the roster that probably has the most length in the NBA. They’re so versatile, they can switch things, defensively they should just be a monster. It hasn’t necessarily transferred on the court on a consistent basis. So there’s a lot going on.”

Names mentioned most in trade rumors involving the Raptors: Guard Fred VanVleet, swingman Gary Trent Jr., and forward OG Anunoby. Of those, Trent is viewed as the most likely trade candidate, as we relayed here. Stein also repeated that notion on the podcast.

Trent most recently has been linked to the Lakers, with LA supposedly placing him squarely on its radar. (Full post.)

“I’m looking at Toronto,” Haynes said. “It could definitely be a yard sale over there.”
