Soon-to-be free agent Otto Porter Jr. hopes to stay with Warriors

Otto Porter Jr.'s first season with the Golden State Warriors could not have ended better.

Porter and the Warriors went the distance, hoisting the Larry O'Brien Trophy after defeating the Boston Celtics in the NBA Finals in six games.

After his first taste of playoff success, Porter wants more.

On Saturday, Porter clarified his free agency intentions, telling ESPN's Kendra Andrews "it would be amazing" to be back with the Warriors next season.

"I do know this team can compete for another championship," Porter said. "And I think it would be a great opportunity if I can stay here. It would be amazing to be here with this group of guys again and do it all over again."

While Porter may want to return to the Warriors, bringing him back may be easier said than done for the Warriors. Golden State is already over the luxury tax for next season, and Porter will likely be seeking a raise after playing last season on a minimum contract.

In 19 postseason games for the Warriors, Porter shot 49% from the field and 40% from three. He averaged 5.4 points, 3.4 rebounds and 1.8 assists, playing 19.5 minutes per game.

Porter played in 63 regular season games, starting 15, averaging 8.2 points, 5.7 rebounds, 1.5 assists and 1.1 steals in 22.2 minutes per game.
