The Mavericks demolished the Suns to win Game 7 (123-90) and advance to the Western Conference Finals behind a well-rounded, team effort led by Dallas’ guards.

Luka Doncic had a team-high 35-points and Spencer Dinwiddie came off the bench with 30 points, providing his best playoff performance of this year’s postseason. Dinwiddie credited Doncic for setting the tone early, which allowed him and the other Mavericks to find success.

“Anytime your leader goes into battle and is on point, he’s the type of guy that wants to throw the knockout punch,” Dinwiddie said of Doncic. “I give him credit for that. He’s never scared of the moment. He wants to go toe-to-toe with the best. It was great for him to come out and calm the storm quick. And the defense kicked in and obviously, everybody was able to chip in after that.”

Dinwiddie had an excellent Game 6, making 5-of-7 from behind the three-point arc, and followed that up in Game 7 by posting an identical line.

“I thought Spencer was incredible for us off the bench,” coach Jason Kidd said after the contest. “It’s a great team win against one of, if not, the best teams in basketball. Everybody had something to do with it. Luka set the tone. But Spencer came off the bench and gave us a big lift.”
