Longtime radio host Craig Carton is calling for the NBA to suspend Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James immediately.
On Tuesday night, James sat out against the San Antonio Spurs due to left foot arthritis. His absence guaranteed that he'll miss the league's 65-game threshold, which means he's not eligible to make the All-NBA team this season.
While on WFAN this Wednesday afternoon, Carton said James should be suspended for skipping this week's game against the Spurs.
"The NBA needs to suspend LeBron James," Carton said, via Awful Announcing. "The NBA should suspend LeBron James. Because it’s enough. But the premier matchup last night for the NBA was actually Lakers and Spurs. Whatever you think about the Lakers, like I do, average basketball team, one and done in the postseason, it’s still Lakers and Spurs and the Spurs might win a championship this year. They’re that good, right?"
Carton wasn't done questioning the future Hall of Famer's integrity.
"The guy that you gave an individual patch to when he demanded it so he could celebrate himself as a 23-year veteran in the NBA and have a patch that they cut up every single game and sell on a Topps special NBA card pack, that guy decided to embarrass the NBA and not play basketball last night because he don’t want that smoke and it’s the third time this year he has chosen while healthy not to play basketball against the San Antonio Spurs."
Just two days ago, Carton went on WFAN and said the New England Patriots will only win five games next season. He also ripped Drake Maye for his poor performance in the Super Bowl.
“Drake Maye was never a good quarterback,” Carton said. “Drake Maye benefitted from playing against the worst teams in football. Drake Maye had a terrible postseason. He got exposed. I knew they’d try to set up some type of excuse for him – just stop!”
It's safe to say Carton has mastered the art of dropping hot takes.
