Spurs Acquire De’Aaron Fox, Kings Trade For Bulls’ Zach LaVine

According to multiple NBA reports, the San Antonio Spurs have acquired De’Aaron Fox.

As part of the trade, the Sacramento Kings are getting Zach LaVine from the Chicago Bulls

Fox wanted to get traded to the Spurs. San Antonio now has Fox and Victor Wembanyama, two of the best players in the NBA. 

LaVine reunites with DeMar DeRozan in Sacramento. The two All-Stars were teammates for three seasons in Chicago. 

Fox is averaging 25.0 points, 5.0 rebounds and 6.1 assists this season while shooting 46.9% from the field, 32.2% from beyond the arc and 82.9% from the free-throw line. The lefty is making $34.8 million. 

Meanwhile, LaVine is averaging 24.0 points, 4.8 rebounds and 4.5 assists while shooting 51.1% from the floor, 44.6% from 3 and 79.7% from the foul line. The UCLA product is making $43 million. 

Fox and LaVine have the same agent, Rich Paul of Klutch Sports Group. Paul’s other big client, Anthony Davis, was traded by the Los Angeles Lakers to the Dallas Mavericks for Luka Doncic. 

The Kings drafted Fox with the fifth overall pick in the 2017 NBA Draft. Fox finishes his Sacramento career with averages of 21.5 points, 3.9 rebounds and 6.1 assists. 

LaVine began his career with the Minnesota Timberwolves. He was the 13th overall pick in the 2014 NBA Draft. The Timberwolves traded LaVine to the Bulls on draft night in 2017 in the Jimmy Butler trade. LaVine has career averages of 20.7 points, 4.1 rebounds and 4.0 assists.
