Victor Wembanyama delivered another dominant all-around performance with 26 points, 15 rebounds, and five blocks as the San Antonio Spurs routed the Miami Heat 136-111 on Monday night, extending their winning streak to six games.
The victory, combined with a loss by the Houston Rockets, clinched the Southwest Division title for San Antonio, which has been the NBA’s hottest team with a 22-2 record since the start of February.
The Spurs overwhelmed Miami early, pouring in 76 first-half points and building a lead that ballooned to as many as 30 — the largest deficit any visiting team has handed the Heat at home this season.
San Antonio’s depth was on full display. Keldon Johnson and Dylan Harper each scored 21 points off the bench, while Stephon Castle added 19. The Spurs improved to 54-18, keeping pace in the race for the West’s top seed, still trailing the Oklahoma City Thunder.
Wembanyama’s stat line continued to underline his dominance — it marked his fourth game this season with at least 26 points, 15 rebounds, and five blocks. The rest of the league has just one such performance combined, from Zach Edey earlier in the year.
Miami, meanwhile, continued to slide. Norman Powell led the Heat with 21 points off the bench, while Bam Adebayo and Tyler Herro each added 18. The Heat have now lost five straight and remain stuck in the tightly packed Eastern Conference play-in race.
After falling behind big, Miami waved the white flag late, resting its starters in the fourth quarter as San Antonio cruised to the finish.
Up Next: The Spurs head to face the Memphis Grizzlies on Wednesday, while the Heat travel to take on the Cleveland Cavaliers.
