Victor Wembanyama has established himself as one of the top players in the NBA since being drafted with the first pick in the 2023 draft by the San Antonio Spurs.

In his rookie season, Wembanyama averaged 21.4 points, 10.6 rebounds, 3.9 assists, 1.2 steals and 3.6 blocks. He won the Rookie of the Year Award and made the All-Defensive First Team.

This season, Wembanyama put up 24.3 points, 11.0 rebounds, 3.7 assists, 1.1 steals and 3.8 blocks per game before being shut down due to deep vein thrombosis in his right shoulder.

The youngster made his first All-Star team and led the league in blocks per game for the second straight season.

During an interview with Bryan Kalbrosky of For The Win, Spurs forward Jeremy Sochan spoke about what the public doesn't grasp about Wembanyama, who is pretty quiet and private.

"For me, day in and day out, he is doing all these little things like playing chess and working on his mental health," Sochan said. "He is doing yoga. That all plays a part in who he is and what he can do on the court. I think a lot of people just think about his talent. Vic can do extraordinary things.

"But it’s all the other things that he does that really open everything up on the court. That may happen behind closed doors, but I think that’s really important. He’s really consistent about it. He wants to be the greatest."

The Spurs haven't made the playoffs since 2019. San Antonio fans are hoping that Wembanyama and De'Aaron Fox can lead the franchise back to the postseason next year.

The Spurs have the second overall pick in this year's draft. If they keep the pick, they will add another talented young player to the roster.
