Spurs' Potential Trade Package for Kevin Durant Revealed

The San Antonio Spurs are looking to build a championship contender around young star Victor Wembanyama. To that end, some major rumors surrounding Kevin Durant have begun popping up.

Durant is widely expected to be traded by the Phoenix Suns this offseason. He was discussed in trades ahead of the 2024-25 NBA trade deadline, but the team opted to keep him until the offseason.

With the 36-year-old superstar likely available, the Spurs would make a lot of sense as a trade suitor. They are loaded with young talent and need to make some kind of move to consolidate the excessive amount of young players they have on the roster.

In order to acquire Durant, San Antonio would have to give up a good amount of value. What could a potential trade package look like?

That is something that NBA writer and analyst Jake Weinbach has now shared.

Weinbach took to X to share that a trade package from the Spurs for Durant would likely include Devin Vassell, Harrison Barnes, and the No. 14 overall pick in the 2025 NBA draft. There could be other pieces involved as well, but that would be a starting point.

During the 2024-25 NBA season in Phoenix, Durant played in 62 games, averaging 26.6 points per game to go along with six rebounds, 4.2 assists, and 1.2 blocks. He also shot 52.7% from the floor and knocked down 43% of his 3-point attempts.

This will be a situation worth monitoring entering the upcoming offseason.
