The San Antonio Spurs landed a gem in the 2024 NBA draft when they selected former UConn guard Stephon Castle with the franchise's No. 4 overall pick.
Castle exceeded expectations in his debut campaign, averaging 14.7 points, 4.1 assists and 3.7 rebounds per game in Year 1 the Spurs.
Castle was recognized for his stellar player when he was announced as the 2024-25 NBA Rookie of the Year in April. And on Tuesday, the 20-year-old NBA guard was recognized with another honor.
Castle was the leading vote getter for the 2024-25 NBA All-Rookie First Team, receiving 100 of 100 possible first-team votes.
The Spurs took to social media to react to this announcement.
"Add it to the resume @StephonCastle is on the @Kia NBA All-Rookie First Team!" the team wrote on X.

Castle is the Spurs' second consecutive Rookie of the Year, following 2023 No. 1 overall pick Victor Wembanyama.
"I feel like our future is really set," Castle said in a recent sit-down with Wembanyama. "I mean, it's only turning up. From the little glimpses that we showed this year, before [Wembanyama] and Fox went out, to have that in our back pocket for next year, plus more, it definitely just speaks super highly of our future."
"I definitely wish we had spent more time together," Wembanyama replied. "We got many years to do that."
The Spurs have the opportunity to land another superstar rookie in the upcoming draft process. Earlier this month, San Antonio won the No. 2 overall pick in the 2025 NBA draft lottery.
