USA TODAY Sports

NOV 5 CISSOKO RECALLED FROM AUSTIN The San Antonio Spurs announced that 44th overall pick Sidy Cissoko has been recalled to the team.

Cissoko is yet to make his regular-season debut, but averaged 12.8 points in 29 minutes per game with G League Ignite last year.

NOV 2 SPURS REVEAL CITY EDITION COURT The San Antonio Spurs have shared the first images of the team's 2023-24 City Edition court. The Spurs will play on the fashionable hardwood for the first time on Friday, Nov. 10 against the Minnesota Timberwolves.

Take a look:

The court and City Edition jerseys are meant to honor the classic feel of Hemisfair Park in San Antonio. Here's what the team website wrote about the City Edition collection.

"THE WORLD GATHERED FOR HEMISFAIR UNDER A TOWER RAISED TO CELEBRATE GLOBAL CONNECTION AND VIVID GROWTH. THIS LANDSCAPE OF WONDER, FANTASY, AND ENTERTAINMENT DAWNED AN ICONIC NEW CHAPTER IN THE CITY’S 250 YEAR OLD HISTORY. THIS SEASON, CITY EDITION TELLS A STORY SET IN MIDCENTURY MODERN AND THE COLORFUL THREADS OF ITS MANY CULTURES."

OCT 31 HARDEN TRADED TO CLIPPERS Just one game after the San Antonio Spurs faced them on their home court, the Los Angeles Clippers made an early splash in the NBA trade market, landing 10-time All-Star James Harden from the Philadelphia 76ers, per Adrian Wojnarowski.

The trade marks the end of a long saga in Philly involving Harden, which involved the disgruntled superstar failing to show up for training camp, being held out of the team's initial road trip and even sparking a league investigation into his unavailability, among other incidents.

Now, the Clippers have their shooting guard and Harden is back in his hometown.

Full trade details below:

PHI receives: Marcus Morris, Nic Batum, Robert Covington, K.J. Martin, 2028 unprotected first-round pick, two second-round picks, pick swap

LAC receive: James Harden, PJ Tucker, Filip Petrusev,

OCT 30 SPURS IN-SEASON TOURNAMENT COURT The San Antonio Spurs' court will look a little different when they host the In-Season Tournament in November.

Here's a first look at what the court has to offer ...

The court will debut on Friday, Nov. 10 against the Minnesota Timberwolves

OCT 29 CISSOKO ASSIGNED TO AUSTIN The San Antonio Spurs announced that 44th overall pick Sidy Cissoko has been assigned to the Austin Spurs of the NBA G-League.

Cissoko is yet to make his regular-season debut, but averaged 12.8 points in 29 minutes per game with G League Ignite last year.

OCT 24 LUKA TO PLAY VS. SPURS Dallas Mavericks star Luka Doncic was questionable going into tonight's game against the San Antonio Spurs with a calf strain. However, he is set to go and will make his season debut against the Spurs.

Doncic will start alongside Kyrie Irving, Josh Green, Grant Williams and Dereck Lively II.

The Spurs and Mavs tip off at 8:30 p.m.

OCT 23 SPURS PICK UP OPTIONS Just days before the start of the regular season, the San Antonio Spurs are establishing their future.

The team announced Monday that it has picked up third-year options on the contracts for last year's first-round picks Jeremy Sochan, Malaki Branham and Blake Wesley.

This means the three of them will be under contract until the 2024-25 season at the earliest.

OCT 22 ADAMS OUT FOR YEAR A rival of the San Antonio Spurs is dealing with a big blow to start the year.

According to The Athletic's Shams Charania, Memphis Grizzlies center Steven Adams is undergoing surgery to repair his PCL.

The Spurs host the Grizzlies on Saturday, Nov. 18 at 7 p.m.

OCT 21 POP CALLS OUT KERR San Antonio Spurs coach Gregg Popovich led one of the worst teams in the NBA last year, but it may have been all worth it as the team catapulted to the No. 1 overall pick, selecting Victor Wembanyama.

Former protege and Golden State Warriors coach Steve Kerr claimed that he felt Pop was "rejuvenated" by getting to coach a once-in-a-lifetime prospect ... but the 74-year-old coach didn't agree.

"What was I being rejuvenated from? Was I in a mental institution or was I depressed and curled up in my bedroom or something? Steve's an a**hole," Popovich jokingly said in a press conference.

OCT 19 SPURS CUT BIRCH The San Antonio Spurs are making some changes to their roster before the start of the season.

According to The Athletic's Shams Charania, the Spurs are cutting Khem Birch.

The Spurs roster now has 16 players and two two-way slots. The team needs to trim the roster to 15 regular spots and can have up to three two-way players by the start of the season.

OCT 15 KELDON JOHNSON BACK MONDAY San Antonio Spurs forward Keldon Johnson will be hitting the court soon.

Johnson told reporters on Sunday that he will make his preseason debut Monday against the Houston Rockets after missing the first two games with a hamstring injury.

The Rockets and Spurs tip off tomorrow night at 7 p.m.

OCT 13 KELDON JOHNSON OUT FRIDAY San Antonio Spurs forward Keldon Johnson will have to wait a little longer to make his preseason debut.

According to San Antonio Express-News insider Tom Orsborn, Johnson will sit tonight's game against the Miami Heat with a hamstring injury.

The Spurs and Heat are set to tip off at 6:30 p.m. on TNT.

OCT 11 SPURS WISH KELDON A HAPPY 24TH BIRTHDAY After a typical day of practice for the San Antonio Spurs, veteran forward Keldon Johnson's teammates shook things up a little bit, surprising him with the "Happy Birthday" song in a circle on the Victory Capital Performance Center court.

Johnson, now 24, averaged 22 points, five rebounds and 2.9 assists last season, and is entering his fifth NBA season looking to "prove doubters wrong" alongside Victor Wembanyama and company. And as he works toward that goal, his teammates made sure to remind him that they'd be supporting him every step of the way.

OCT 9 JOHNSON, SOCHAN OUT FOR PRESEASON OPENER The starting point guard debate has officially been answered … at least for the San Antonio Spurs’ preseason opener.

“General soreness” is keeping both Keldon Johnson and Jeremy Sochan sidelined against the Oklahoma City Thunder Monday evening, marking the first official “injuries” for San Antonio this season.

With Sochan out, any scenario where he was the starting point guard in a Victor Wembanyama-centered lineup are no longer viable, and Tre Jones is now in a prime position to start.

Everyone else on the Spurs’ is good to go for their 7 p.m. road tipoff.

OCT 3 BULLOCK SIGNS WITH ROCKETS A former member of the San Antonio Spurs has a new home.

The Houston Rockets plan to sign free agent forward Reggie Bullock once he clears waivers. Shams Charania of The Athletic was the first to report.

Bullock and the Spurs reached a buyout agreement shortly before the start of training camp. Now, he joins one of the Spurs' biggest rivals.

SEP 27 DAME TRADED TO BUCKS After a long offseason saga involving 11th-year Portland Trail Blazers point guard Damian Lillard, the veteran NBA superstar is headed to Milwaukee.

A three-team deal involving Phoenix, Milwaukee and Portland sees Lillard joining forces with Bucks two-time MVP Giannis Antetokounmpo, also forming a big three with Kris Middleton. Lillard averaged 32.2 points last season on 37 percent shooting from deep, and is still a colossal impactor on offense.

Looks like Giannis — after honestly speaking out about his situation with the Bucks a few weeks ago — is staying put. Former Bucks point guard Jrue Holiday was also moved in the deal, and will look to sign with a "contending team." Full details below:

MIL gets: Damian Lillard

POR gets: Jrue Holiday, Deandre Ayton, Toumani Camara, 2029 unprotected Bucks 1st-round pick, 2028, 2030 Bucks swap rights.

PHX gets: Jusuf Nurkic, Grayson Allen, Nassir Little, Keon Johnson

SEP 27 WARRIORS SIGN RUDY GAY A former member of the San Antonio Spurs is signing with a Western Conference contender.

Gay, 37, played the past two seasons with the Utah Jazz but also has four years with the Spurs under his belt from 2017-21.

SEP 22 STEVENS SIGNS WITH CELTICS A former member of the San Antonio Spurs has a new home.

According to The Athletic's Shams Charania, the Boston Celtics are signing Lamar Stevens to a deal.

Stevens was traded to the Spurs earlier in the offseason with Cedi Osman from the Cleveland Cavaliers, but he was cut back in the summer to shed some roster space. Now, he joins the contending Celtics to help with their second-unit defense.

SEP 18 SPURS SIGN MILLNER The San Antonio Spurs are adding to their roster.

According to HoopsHype reporter Michael Scotto, the Spurs are signing Seth Millner to a two-way contract.

Millner, 23, averaged 5.2 points for the Spurs during Summer League in July.

SEP 11 CAM PAYNE CUT The San Antonio Spurs are making a small change to their roster.

According to ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski, the Spurs are cutting veteran guard Cam Payne.

Payne, 29, was acquired in a small trade with the Phoenix Suns back in July. However, his next home won't be in San Antonio.

SEP 10 BROOKS, CANADA BEAT U.S. Dillon Brooks is coming home with some hardware after Canada beat the United States 127-118 in Sunday's FIBA World Cup bronze medal match to clinch third place in the tournament.

In an effort that earned "MVP" chants from the crowd assembled at SM Mall of Asia Arena, Brooks did a little bit of everything, pairing a five-rebound, four-assist output with 39 points on 12-of-18 from the field.

Now, Brooks will get ready for Houston Rockets training camp, which begins in less than a month.

Brooks and the Rockets play the San Antonio Spurs at the Frost Bank Center on Friday, Oct. 27.

SEP 8 GERMANY KNOCKS OFF USA IN FIBA WORLD CUP SEMIFINAL Sometimes in sports, the outright favorite gets shocked by the underdog. On Friday, that's exactly what happened in the FIBA World Cup as USA fell to Germany in the semifinal, 113-111.

Germany, who has yet to lose a game in the World Cup, played with such poise and chemistry as if they were the team who was seen as the overall favorite, who had three players score 20+ points along with Dennis Schroder's 17 points and nine assists, which helped dictate the pace of the game.

USA held a one-point lead at halftime but Germany came out firing in the third quarter, heading into the fourth with a double-digit lead and never looked back.

Team USA will face Canada in the third-place match, while Germany lines up against Serbia for the gold medal game on Sunday.

SEP 6 FIBA WORLD CUP SEMIFINALS The San Antonio Spurs won't be represented at the FIBA World Cup semifinals after Sandro Mamukelashvili was eliminated in the Round of 16.

However, the stage is set for the final four teams after the quarterfinals eliminated half of the remaining field.

Serbia will face Canada, while the United States will play Germany, the last undefeated team left in the tournament. Both games take place Friday in Manila, Philippines.

SEP 3 GEORGIA ELIMINATED FROM WORLD CUP The FIBA World Cup is coming to an end for San Antonio Spurs forward Sandro Mamukelashvili.

Georgia was eliminated after a 100-84 loss against Australia. Mamukelashvili scored 12 points and grabbed nine rebounds in the defeat.

Now, Mamu will begin to prepare for the 2023-24 season with the Spurs.

SEP 1 GEORGIA LOSES VS. GERMANY San Antonio Spurs forward Sandro Mamukelashvili scored a game-high 19 points for Georgia in their match against Germany, but it was not enough to grab a win in a 100-73 defeat.

Germany was led by Maodo Lo, who scored 18 and Toronto Raptors guard Dennis Schroder, who added 16 points and seven assists.

Georgia's next game is scheduled for Sunday against Australia at 2:15 a.m. on ESPN+.
